The Fehmarn Link

House is examined by museum staff

One of the houses, which are to be demolished, is examined by museum staff.

The work on the future tunnel under the Fehmarn Belt has a significant impact on Lolland-Falster, particularly in the area around Rødbyhavn. In addition to the financial and traffic impact, existing cultural environments are effected directly and indirectly, houses are demolished, and the locals' stories gain new dimensions.

Museum Lolland-Falster is currently directing its focus on the area's cultural and development history and on the changes that are taking place in the area around Rødbyhavn. For instance, we are documenting, in collaboration with Femern A/S, the properties that are being demolished in order to make room for the tunnel construction, and we are relating the uniquely local stories to the general narratives of the area.
