Cold War Museum Stevnsfort

The deepest secret of the Cold War in Denmark - Now open to the public.

For more than four decades, the underground fortress and its heavy artillery guns controlled all Warsaw Pact navy ships entering and leaving the Baltic Sea.
With its 1 mile (1,7 km's) long corridors cut into the limestone, the fortress was built to withstand a nuclear attack, and with its radars, sonars and hydrophones the fortress could monitor all movements in the western Baltic.

Experience the unique underground fortress, which was left fully intact by the Royal Danish Navy in 2000, and hear about the history of fortress and about Danish defence during the Cold War periode. You can also visit the fully equipped missile site above ground on our guided tours. It will be an experience, that You will never forget.
